The Group CTO operating system
Prism is a working MVP built for a Software Combined Group CTO interview. It is the tool I would spin up in week one of the role to turn thirteen opaque portfolio companies into one ranked, evidence-backed roadmap of AI value creation — and one repeatable technical due-diligence pipeline for every new deal.
Every score, every signal, every cited URL is real. All thirteen PortCos — Streamtime, Scope Systems, Energy Inspection, MacroView, Omnitronics, Last Yard, Activate, Dbvisit, Hero, Removify, Unified Streaming, Res2 and WCC Group — are the actual acquired companies. Research was conducted from public sources on 2026-04-21.
The seven-dimension scoring framework maps directly onto the Group CTO success criteria in the job description. The AVCI (AI Value-Creation Index) is the weighted composite that answers the only question a Group CTO needs to answer on a Monday morning: where do I spend this week for the biggest cross-portfolio AI value lift?
Prism sits in the whitespace between PE portfolio monitoring tools (Allvue, Chronograph, PortfolioIQ) and per-product analytics (Amplitude, Mixpanel). Those answer “what is this fund's IRR?”. Prism answers “where is the next 10% of ARR hiding inside this portfolio, and which AI play unlocks it?”

Stack & methodology
- · Next.js 15 App Router · React 19 · Tailwind · SQLite (better-sqlite3)
- · 13 PortCos · 7 dimensions · 91 cited scores · 50+ evidence signals · 13 plays · 6 frameworks · 1 worked TDD
- · Every score is weighted (AI Readiness 1.4×, Competition + Data Moat 1.3×) into AVCI
- · Every signal has confidence (high / medium / low), subtype, source URL, fetched date
